Nihongo Journey — Account Deletion

You can delete your Nihongo Journey account and all associated data at any time using either of the methods below.

Method 1: Delete from inside the app (recommended)

1. Open the Nihongo Journey app and sign in.

2. Tap Profile (bottom navigation).

3. Tap Settings (gear icon, top right).

4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.

5. Confirm your identity when prompted, then tap Delete My Account.

Method 2: Request deletion by email

Send an email to nihongo.journey.contact@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 7 days.

What data is deleted

Your Firebase Authentication account (email, display name)
All Firestore data: profile, XP, streaks, JLPT progress, study plans, notes, uploaded files, schedule, and subscription records
All Firebase Storage files uploaded by your account
Local app data (cleared automatically on next app launch)

What data is retained

Anonymised, aggregated analytics data that cannot be linked back to you (retained per Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics policy)
Crash reports already submitted to Crashlytics (retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted)
